Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) of South-Africa

MANDATE

The Estate Agency Affairs Board (the EAAB) is a public entity listed in Schedule 3, Part A, of the Public Finance Management Act, 1 of 1999. The EAAB was established to maintain and promote the standard of conduct of estate agents and regulate the activities of estate agents having due regard to the public interest.  The EAAB, accordingly, is statutorily mandated by the provisions of the Estate Agency Affairs Act, 112 of 1976 (“the Act”), to: a)  maintain and promote the standard of conduct of estate agents;b)  manage the registration of qualified applicants as estate agents;c)  issue fidelity fund certificates to qualified estate agents;d)  prescribe the standard of training and practical experience of estate agents; ande)  generally regulate the activities of estate agents.
